Greenhouse Associate

Nursery Sales Associate

The Nursery Sales Associate provides garden center customer service, as well as plant maintenance and merchandising assistance, primarily in the Nursery Department (perennials, trees, and shrubs). 

Required Skills and Experience

● High school graduate, or the equivalent. Horticulture or Landscape Design degree, training, or previous green industry experience is a big plus. 
● Strong in the sales skills of active listening, information gathering, and problem solving.

● No fear of labor-intensive work in the outdoors, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Compensation 

Pay range: $8.50 -$18 hour 

Retail work hours when the Garden Center is open, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
● A part time, full time, or temporary seasonal position that ebbs + flows with the demands of the seasons.

Landscape Designer

Landscape Designer

The Landscape Designer organizes and creates exterior spaces using plant materials and hardscape elements. The Designer works closely with clients from initial contact, site evaluation, closing the sale, to project completion. 

Required Education, Skills and Experience 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or other related area. 

Expertise in horticulture understanding and plant identification. 

Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools and equipment utilized in landscape work. 

Ability to perform a thorough site analysis to determine current vegetation, grading, and environmental factors. 

Sales and marketing experience. 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Landscape Team and clients. 

Compensation 
Salary range $30,000 - $45,000, plus commission.

Landscape Foreman

Love working outdoors and creating beautiful landscapes? Looking for an opportunity for career growth and to lead your own landscape crew? Then our Landscape Team has a place for you! 

The Landscape Foreman is a working supervisor of one or more crews in the planning, organizing and development of plant and hardscape installations at a job site. 

Does the following describe you? 

  • At least 3+ years of landscape and hardscape experience in a supervisory role.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to be an effective team member, to provide excellent customer service, and to maintain job documentation.
  • Extensive gardening experience with knowledge of perennial and woody plants, as well as landscape/hardscape design concepts and applications.
  • Able to work independently in the comprehension and implementation of a design.
  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and maintaining plants in a landscape, gardening tools and equipment, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Ability to drive a skid steer and dump truck.

Compensation 
Pay range: $20 - $30 hour

Landscape Crew Leader

The Landscape Crew Leader directs crew members in daily operations, including quality control, training, punctuality and safety. A seasonal position, March - November, with the possibility of intermittent work December - February. 

Required Skills and Experience 

At least 3+ years of landscape and hardscape experience. 

Verbal and written communication skills to be an effective team member, to provide excellent customer service, and to maintain job documentation. 

Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized in landscaping work. 

Working knowledge of horticultural practices, annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs. 

Ability to assign and supervise the work of others, provide instruction and leadership. 

Ability to drive a skid steer and dump truck. 

Compensation 

Pay range: $16 - $19 hour

The Office Manager is responsible for office administration, bookkeeping, human resources coordination, and retail point of sale data entry support.

Education, Skills, Experience & Strengths:

  • minimum 2-year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of professional experience involving administrative support, office management,and organizational procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Google G-Suite Apps (Gmail,Calendar, Drive), and point of sale retail applications and back office procedures.
  • Forward-thinking and optimistic in process improvement methods.

Greenhouse Production Manager / Assistant Grower

The Greenhouse Production Manager / Assistant Grower is responsible for the ordering, scheduling, plant health & maintenance, and inventory control of annuals, hanging baskets, herb & vegetable plants, and perennial crops for spring, summer and fall. He or she assists the Head Grower with an integrated pest management program. Other responsibilities include personnel management of Greenhouse Production Assistants, as well as strategic planning as part of the Company Leadership Team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Horticulture or a closely related field, or a minimum of 5+ years of growing experience and training as demonstrated through work history.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Word + Excel, point of sale system, and Google apps.
  • Forward-thinking and optimistic.
  • Time management and delegation finesse to prioritize customers, staff, and inventory responsibilities.
  • A life passion for horticulture industry, hard work, and enjoying the results!
  • PA Pesticide Applicator License.

Front of House Supervisor

The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for garden center retail operations and personnel management.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate, or the equivalent. Horticulture or Landscape Design degree, training, or previous

green industry experience is a big plus.

  • Minimum of 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in retail operations.
  • Strong in the sales skills of active listening, information gathering, and problem solving.
  • Computer literate, especially Microsoft Word + Excel, POS, Google apps.
  • Time management and delegation finesse to prioritize customers, staff, and merchandising
